A film is usually born of an idea or a concept. The fundamental purpose, thereof, being to entertain. The arena of entertainment is one that satisfies so many areas of interest in one single entity, people. That is, most films, by nature of their structure, are able to inform and teach as well as entertain, often times shaping the person inside. This was one of my first visions when I thought about making a movie. It wasn’t good for me to only entertain people, which I always do. I had to have the other elements involved with the production. I wanted to share something about my culture with mainstream America as well as the rest of the world that had not been explored on the screen before. In my heart, I knew that this was the noblest achievement a filmmaker could make to the discipline of making movies, revealing something new.
